| A 24 yo bodybuilder who has been training since his high school soccer playing days, Kevin Y is serious about his sport and tries to do a show every year. Working second shift at a production facility allows him to train during the quieter midday gym hours. One week before his 2004 competition, this shoot involved traveling to the rural hinterlands of Appalachia, where the owner of his gym was kind enough to let us shoot unmolested, except for her, her mother, and a couple of toddlers running around and yelling. Even his wife stopped by to chat. Then a more peaceful setting at the local athletic fields on a great summer day in the midst of the steep hills surrounding his village.
